Gregory and the Hawk

Demo Review | Jan 20th 2006

I stumbled on this band completely by accident while surfing for interesting bands on myspace. What I found was Gregory and the Hawk, an enchanting mix of softly sung poetic lyrics and acoustic guitar. The first track ‘boats and birds’ a mysterious lullaby, had me hooked instantly. It’s not often a song gets my full attention so quickly, if it does at all. The other song that caught my ears was Isabelle, a heart broken ode to heart break. A perfect record to sit back and reflect on the world to. I wait, as you will when you hear this, in anticipation for the full length LP.

  1. I have the demo too, and the first time I listened to it I found it wonderfully beautiful yet somewhat depressing. It’s still a melancholy album for me, but it truly is perfect for reflection, especially “Bravo Charlie”.
